Six years later he became Bishop of Melanesia,〔''Ecclesiastical Intelligence. New Bishop Of Malanesia. '' The Times Wednesday, Feb 28, 1912; pg. 6; Issue 39833; col A〕 serving for seven years. Returning to England he was Rector of Witnesham and then an assistant bishop in the Diocese of Newcastle.
